Cameroon’s Sports and Physical Education is expected to pay an evaluation mission to the Olembe Stadium under construction in the country’s centre region. The site is expected to host the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON.
A release announced the Minister’s visit after a similar one in Garoua.
The announcement read:
The Minister of Sports and Physical Education and President of AFCON 2019, Bidoung Mkpatt, will this Wednesday September 19, 2018 as from 9 am pay a working visit to the Olembe construction site, Centre Region.
This is to assess the progress of the work three months to the date set for the completion and handover of the 60,000 seaters capacity stadium.
