Ministry of Trade destroys fake goods

The Ministry of Trade has destroyed several fake goods seized from traders in Yaounde.

The goods including cooking oil, biscuits and other edibles were destroyed at the outskirts of the city.

The recent success Minister Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana told the press comes after the launch of a hotline (1502) for reporting illicit trading activity.

“The number is intended to help us check illegal trade practices in the market” Minister Luc Magloire said.

Using the number he said, ” a citizen called and informed us of the fake product passing for refined oil in Yaounde”.

He went on to call on all to remain vigilant as well as cooperate with authorities in checking illegal trade. While it is not the first time such products are being seized, many keep asking what is done to persons caught in the act.
