Missing Three-Day-Old Baby Found in Nkoabang

The three-day-old baby, who was reported missing from the Baptist Hospital in Ekoundoum, Yaoundé, has been located and is safe and sound. The baby was found in Nkoabang, bringing a sense of relief and joy to the parents and the entire community.

According to sources, the thief had brought the baby to a health centre in Nkoabang, pretending to be the mother and seeking medical treatment for the infant. Nevertheless, an observant individual at the health centre, who was well-informed about the missing baby case, quickly notified the police.

The prompt response from law enforcement resulted in the baby being safely recovered and the suspect being apprehended. The parents of the stolen baby were captured in a photograph alongside the administrator of Ekoundoum Baptist Hospital, conveying their deep appreciation and sense of relief.

This incident highlights the security challenges faced by nursing and expectant mothers in Cameroon’s hospitals. While this story has a good outcome thanks to the vigilance and collaborative work of the community to protect its most vulnerable members, similar situations in the past have not been positive.

It is expected that Ekoundoum Baptist Hospital will commit to improving and strengthening its security measures to ensure that similar incidents are avoided in the future.

The community of Yaoundé can now find solace, as the baby has been reunited with its parents, bringing immense joy to all.
