MitaCCUL management reacts to Friday’s robbery incident

Following the robbery incident at the Mitanyen Cooperative Credit Union Head Office at Sonac Street in Bamenda, with CCTV video footage making rounds on social media, the management of the financial institution has issued an official statement concerning the issue.

Contrary to already made up cases of who carried out the robbery, as some say it is separatist fighters while others say it is the Military dressed up as separatist fighters, the management has been careful not to point accusing fingers as they say the gunmen were “unidentified”.

MitaCCUL equally used the opportunity to sound out their utmost neutrality in the on-going crisis in the two Anglophone regions. “This incident happens at a time when MitaCCUL Management and its members have continued to observe neutrality during this crisis.

We thank God that with all the security measures already in place, no human casualty were recorded and material loss was greatly mitigated contrary to unverified speculations especially on social media,” it was said in the communique.

The management of Mitanyen Cooperative Credit Union has however assured the public that the robbery incident at the Head Office in Bamenda was not going to be a hindrance to their activities as work continue as always.
