Momo Chief Kidnapped For Attending CPDM Campaign Rally

His Royal Highness the Fon of Teze village in Momo Division of Cameroon’s Northwest region, reports say, has been kidnapped by suspected Ambazonian fighters.

Chief Atughap Justin V of Teze who is the only second class chief in the Ngie clan was kidnapped on Sunday, February 2, 2020.

“The only motive behind the kidnap is that he took part in the CPDM campaign in Mbengwi on Saturday, February 1st,” a source tells MMI.

Several others have also faced harsh treatment from suspected Ambazonian fighters for partaking in the ongoing election campaigns.

In a similar incident, three people were said to have been kidnapped last night in Baligham still in the North West region.

Of the three that were heading towards Awing before being kidnapped, one is said to be the wife of the late chief of Baligham.

While no group or individual has owned up for the act, locals point accusing fingers at Ambazonian fighters in the area who have been carrying out similar actions for ransom.
