Momo communication delegate killed in separatist attack

The divisional delegate of Communication for Momo division in the North West region, Becky Jeme Iyabo is reported to have been killed in an attack by separatist fighters.

She and five others were killed in an explosion believed to be orchestrated by separatists fighting to create a breakaway state they call Ambazonia.

Becky Jeme and the other victims who were security forces, were accompanying the Senior Divisional Officer for Momo to install the Divisional Officers for Ngie and Njikwa when they were killed.

The victims are a few of thousands believed to have died since the Anglophone crisis morphed into an armed conflict.

The government has however not provided the latest statistics of officials who have died in the conflict.
