“Yannick Njeng, player of the Intermediate Lions of Cameroon has been excluded from the team currently taking part in the ongoing #TOTALCHAN2020 for characterized indiscipline,” reads a release from the squad’s Media Officer.
During last night’s game wherein the Lions were thrashed four goals to zero by their Moroccan counterparts, Ndjeng was pictured apparently having a not-so-friendly exchange at the reserve bench, leaving hints of discontentment within the squad.
His dismissal, which confirms the said suspicions, comes at a time when the team is facing backlash over its loss, with many calling out authorities for relying on witchdoctors and spiritualists to win the game.
Morocco after beating Cameroon will face Mali in the African Nations Championship final game on Sunday.
