Beloved Nigerian actor John Okafor, famously known as Mr. Ibu, has emerged victorious after undergoing five successful surgeries in Nigeria. The actor’s family provided an update on his condition, expressing immense gratitude for the generous support they received from well-meaning Nigerians and fans. A post on Mr. Ibu’s official Instagram page stated, “We called on good Nigerians, and we are very grateful for the response in every aspect, most especially the donations; they came in very timely and very helpful.”

The post continued to reveal the heartening news that Mr. Ibu had successfully undergone five surgeries, marking a significant step towards his recovery. Currently, he is in an intensive care unit, where he is receiving the necessary medical attention to stabilise his condition. The family expressed their gratitude, saying, “Daddy is immensely grateful, and we are thankful to the general public during this phase of our lives.”

The renowned comedian expressed his struggle while lying in a hospital bed with his wife and daughter, saying, “As I speak to you, I am still lying down in the hospital; the medical director of this hospital said that the best solution is that, in case his new idea didn’t work, the best idea is to cut off my leg.”

Jasmine Okafor, Mr. Ibu’s daughter, confirmed her father’s two-week-long stay in the healthcare facility through an Instagram post. The family’s cry for financial assistance resonated with a considerable number of Nigerian celebrities and concerned fans, who rallied to support their beloved actor.
