MRC Outlines Cameroon’s Vulnerability To Coronavirus

Following the Confirmation of a coronavirus case in Cameroon, the Cameroon Renaissance Movement political party, MRC has said the virus risk spreading faster and further in the Country, given that measures taken by the government of cameroon to prevent and or handle COVID 19 are insufficient.

In a communique released by the party’s National Secretary incharge of health, appropriate technical and logistical measures to contain COVID 19 have not been taken by the government of cameroon, even after the announcement of atleast 4 cases in Nigeria, he said.

The MRC of Prof. Maurice Kamto says the government has failed in the training of hospital officials to manage cases of COVID 19.

The party also cited lack of a national prevention and control plan for COVID 19, absence of a conformed treatment center, failure to train health officialss on the prevention and control of the virus, and the absence of a stock of medicine that can be used handle suspected and confirmed cases of the disease.

The party then called on the people of cameroon, to hold the government responsible in case of a consiquent pread of Coronavirus in Cameroon
