A mutilated, lifeless body was found last Wednesday morning, August 9, around 5 a.m., in the Belibi district locality known as ‘Vieux Panier’ (old basket), near Anguissa in Yaoundé.
The body, which has not yet been identified, was found in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds, and the victim was believed to be in his 30s. The cause of death is still unknown, but the inhabitants of that area are saying it was an account settlement. They say the man was killed somewhere else, and his body was just deposited on the scene where it was found.
According to a witness, the insecurity reigning in Yaoundé lately is alarming, and something needs to be done. He recounted another lifeless body found on the same spot a few days ago.
The discovery of the body has caused panic in the area, and residents are demanding that the police find the killer and bring them to justice.
The police have launched an investigation into the matter, and they are asking anyone with information about the crime to come forward.
This is a developing story, and we will update it as more information becomes available.
This is just one of the many insecurities Yaoundé has been facing lately. In addition to the numerous road accidents along the road leading to Yaounde, the number of missing persons and unsolved murders has skyrocketed.
