Muyuka: One Killed, Another Wounded As Soldiers Open Fire On Civilians

Civilian receives bullet on the right leg in Monday’s shooting in Muyuka

One civilian has died and another seriously wounded on the leg when soldiers opened fire in Muyuka today, locals have told Mimi Mefo Info.
The military is said to have stormed the Malende neighborhood in Muyuka, Fako Division, Monday, August 12, 2019 shooting indiscriminately.

“One was shot on the leg and the other person killed as the military raided the area and started shooting rampantly. As civilians were fleeing for their lives, they shot one guy on the leg and the other person was shot dead,” a local said in tears.

Most locals have fled into the bushes to seek refuge as the guns smoke.
All the males in Muyuka Subdivision are now seen as restoration fighters by Cameroon’s security forces.
Since 2017, soldiers have been battling armed men fighting for the putative state of Ambazonia.
