“My ex-girlfriend released my images for fame” – Brenda Biya

Brenda Biya, daughter of President Paul Biya, says she has cut ties with her Brazilian girlfriend, Layyons Valença, after announcing their romantic relationship last week.

In a video titled, “My Coming Out Went Sour,” Brenda explains the circumstances behind her nude photos that surfaced online, attributing it to an act of revenge by Valença, now her ex-girlfriend.

In the video, Brenda reveals that Layyons Valença deliberately posted their private photos to gain followers and possibly money.

“The person I was dating for months, my ex-girlfriend as of now, did revenge porn on me and released all our private photos online to gain followers and probably money,” Brenda states.

She believes that Valença had an agenda from the beginning to destroy her and her family, suggesting that someone may have paid Valença to collect information and sabotage her.

Brenda expresses doubt about the authenticity of Valença’s feelings.

“I don’t think she ever loved me. She saw that I had social media attention, and as someone who also wanted some attention and buzz, she decided to change the course of things by posting intimate photos of herself and me kissing and another of us having oral sex.”

She asserts that Valença was the only person with access to her iCloud and other personal accounts, making her the prime suspect in the leak.

The leaked photos, which surfaced a few days ago, sparked significant discussions online, particularly given Cameroon’s laws against homosexuality.

Brenda acknowledges the dual impact of the leak, noting that while it attracted negative attention, it also garnered support from LGBTQ communities.

“I know that many people see me as their role model, and I will never do something like release my private pictures online because I know how it is going to make people who look up to me feel,” she says in her video.

Brenda Biya caused a stir last week when she shared photos of her romantic affair with Valença, in the context of Cameroon penalising same-sex relations.

The photos and videos clearly challenged the anti-LGBTQ legislation of Cameroon, a country her father has ruled for 41 years now.

In her latest statement, Brenda Biya apologised to the public and her family for the fallout from their relationship. But she did not renounce lesbianism.

She expressed regret over the circulation of her nude photographs and the distress it caused to those who looked up to her.
