Men believed to be separatist fighters have bordered a lady in Muyuka, South West region. A video on social media shows here butchered in broad day light by men accusing her of being a “black leg” and betraying the separatist struggle.

Over ten thousand ghost workers discovered in government’s pay roll. This follows investigations carried out by the Ministry of finance. The ministry started the process in 2018. The ghost workers caused government to lost over 35 billion each year.

First ever Cameroonian female doctor, Gladys Ejomi has died today. The pioneer doctor practiced the profession for 58 years before retiring. Minister of Women’s empowerment, Marie Therese Abena Ondoa has given the doctor the memorable prize as the first female doctor to help cement her legacy.

The Minister has called for more vigilance as figures keep rising.

Thousands of protesters are once again on the streets of the Malian capital, Bamako, calling on the country’s president, Ibrahim Boubakar Keïta, to step down. They’re angry at worsening jihadist violence and the level of corruption in the country.

Officials in Somalia now say 19 people are known to have died during a shoot-out inside the capital Mogadishu’s main prison. Correctional Services Spokesman Abdiqani Mohamed Khalaf said on state TV that 15 prisoners were killed, and four wardens. Another eight people were injured, he said.

The government in Niger has extended a state of emergency to the entire region that surrounds the capital Niamey after six French aid workers, a local driver and a guide were killed on Sunday. The giraffe reserve where gunmen on motorbikes carried out the attack has now been closed to visitors. No group has claimed it but the attack is highly likely to have been carried out by Islamist militants.

A man and his three wives have been arrested in north-western Nigeria on suspicion of the long-term detention and torture of their 12-year-old son. The boy was found on Sunday among goats and hens inside a makeshift structure where he was tied to a wooden pillar. After a tip-off a team of human rights lawyers and police said they found him barely able to stand on his feet, and looking malnourished.

A Rwandan man died in hospital after being badly assaulted by a police officer who was enforcing a night-time curfew on the outskirts of the capital, Kigali, a member of his family has told the BBC. Flavien Ngaboyamahina, who would have turned 30 on Wednesday, had visited a friend in Karenge, east of Kigali. They were both arrested on 1 August for being outdoors after 21:00 local time, when the curfew starts, the family member, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said.
