The family of journalist Samuel Wazizi and his defending lawyers say they have not seen the corpse of the journalist close to two months after government officials announced that he died while in detention in Yaounde. To Bar. Edward Lyonga, one of his defending lawyers, they will file another case asking for the body at the Buea high court in the days ahead.

Sixteen pupils of a private school prevented from writing the Common Entrance examination at Ndobo examination center in Douala. According to the chief of centre, the names of the kids were not on the list of candidates. The kids accused their head teacher of collecting their registration fee but did not register their names. Their parents have promised to ensure that the kids write first school leaving certificate in July.

Some primary school teachers of anglophone expression were stopped from invigilating Common Entrance examination at the Mabanda examination center. The teachers were not given access to the school campus despite being invited to do the job by authorities. The chief of center says they will be given the pride of place during the first school leaving certificate.

A total of 4.600 students of the University of Buea have not completed their fees for the academic year 2019/2020. The University says the money amounts to 230 million francs cfa. They have given July 15th for the money to be paid else students concerned will not be permitted to collect results or transcripts from the school.

The population of Ntarbah, Donga Mantung Division say separatist fighters and the military have added more pain to a people already overwhelmed with insecurity. To them, three people killed by the military on Monday were hostages taken by separatist fighters after setting ablaze two trucks yesterday.

Inhabitants of Big Babanki and Kedjom Keku in the North West region of Cameroon are still in bushes following a military raid. Local sources say the military raided the village Monday night killing one civilian.  The rest of the villagers went into bushes and are yet to return.

Senator Mbella Moki Charles has advised the Presidential reconstruction team to first reconstruct the mind before the infrastructural reconstruction in order to avoid  a catastrophe. He was speaking today in Buea during a delibration session with the reconstruction team which is headed by Minister Paul Tasong.

A traditional ruler who participated at the launch of the reconstruction plan in Buea told the national coordinator to involve the separatists in the reconstruction process for the cause of the problem. But how can reconstruction take place amid gunshots? He asked Minister Paul  Tasong during the launching ceremony in Buea.

Jawar Mohammed, an influential and popular Ethiopian political activist, has been arrested amid protests that have gripped the Horn of Africa nation, Reuters news agency reports. It says he was arrested after his bodyguards refused to disarm. Mr Mohammed, is a former ally of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed but is now an ardent critic.

Leaders of five West African countries and President Emmanuel Macron of France have been meeting to review their efforts to intensify the fight against jihadist militants in the Sahel.
