National Assembly mourns again:
8th MP dies in 7 months

The National Assembly has lost another lawmaker, Hon Ngahane Isaac. The CPDM Member of Parliament for Wouri East in the Littoral Region on Sunday, succumbed to the cold hands of death after an unnamed illness.

Hon. Ngahane who too was President of the National Assembly Committee on Education, Vocational Training and Youths, becomes the 8th Cameroonian lawmaker to die in 2021.

The late MP was also an economic operator, owner of Idéal voyage and prêt-à-porter de luxe, all located in Douala.

Many of his colleagues and loved ones have extended condolence messages to Hon Ngahane’s family. Among them is PCRN lawmaker, Hon Nourane Foster. “It is with great emotion and sorrow that I just learned of the passing of my colleague and senior Hon. Ngahane Isaac, CPDM MP of Wouri East. Allow me to extend my sincere condolences to his biological and political family,” she remarked.

Prior to Hon Ngahane, his counterpart of the Sanaga Maritime in the Littoral region, Hon Ngo Yetna Marinette, passed away. Announcing her demise, the speaker of the National Assembly, Cavaye Yeguie Djibril described her as a CPDM member of parliament that put in her all to serve the nation.


“She passed away on Monday, 24 May 2021, after a brief illness. The speaker of the National Assembly hereby extends his deep condolences and those of the entire Hose to the bereaved family and the population of the Sanaga Maritime who bestowed their confidence on her by electing her during the legislative elections of 9 February 2021” said Gaston Komba, Secretary General of the Assembly.


Other deceased MPs in the ongoing legislature include Hon Harouna Abdoulaye, MP for Mayo Louti; Saraou Bernadette, MP for Mayo Kani Nord; Yakouba Yaya, MP for Mayo Sava; Djibrilla Kaou, of Mayo Tsanaga South; Prince Mikody of Boumba et Ngoko; and Emilia Monjowa Lifaka of Fako Rural.
