National Assembly president says Brigade Anti Sardinad members are cowards

The 2019 legislative year ended Wednesday December 11, 2019 in Yaounde, Cameroon’s political.

President Paul Biya has however announced an extra ordinary parliamentary session on December 13 over an undisclosed motive.

Political analyst have been suggesting the unceremonious announcement is connected to the prevailing political situation in the country.

“UN security council asked for resolutions of the dialogue and proper understanding of special status, they are shivering,” a political observer said.

Others say parliamentarians have failed in their role as people’s representatives and have for over the decades remained to bills tabled by the regime.

As the 3rd regular session of the National Assembly ended today in Yaoundé, speaker Cavaye Djibril lashed out at what he called enemies of the republic.

Cavaye who has held the post for almost three decades criticised the Brigade Anti Sardinarde movement popularly known as BAS.

To him, a patriotic Cameroonian is one that actively takes part in affairs of the nation instead of carrying out protests in foreign countries.

A good Cameroonian he adds “is one who has the courage to return to the country” and take part in exchanges with other compatriots.

A good anti-sardinard “is one who agrees to come and make his contribution to the building of Cameroon” he added, stating that those operating in foreign territory are exhibiting weakness and cowardice.

The BAS it should be recalled has staged several protests in foreign nations against state institutions and personnel in Cameroon.

Cavaye has not changed his language since pro independence movement gained steam in Anglophone Cameroon amid series of anti-Biya protests in the diaspora.

The house has failed to heed to opposition calls for the topic to be included on their agenda.

Many are hoping the outcome of this December parliamentary session will address ways at resolving the current crisis in Cameroon.
