National Covid-19 Vaccination Campaign: Litoral Health Delegate obliges all Health Workers to receive vaccines

It’s been revealed that despite the state’s efforts to speed up the vaccination process against the Covid-19 pandemic, most of the Health Workers who have been charged at administering the vaccine to the population are still to be vaccinated themselves, especially in the Litoral Region.

With this identified as one of the major hurdles towards the vaccination campaign, the Regional Delegate for Health on the Littoral Region has ordered all Health Workers and Caregivers to get vaccinated as soon as possible before proceeding to treat others.

It is with this order, Cameroon-info reports, that the Chief Physician of the Nyalla Medical Center called, Dr. Simon Pierre Njuimo on all his staff and ordered for them to get vaccinated before the end of the National Vaccination Campaign as ordered by the Health Regional Delegate.

In the Press release which he used to demand the mandatory vaccination by his staff, Dr. Simon Pierre equally specified that recalcitrant staff will be identified and sanctioned.

The decision to force the staff to receive the vaccine has not gone down well with them either. Most of them have complained about not wanting to receive the vaccine, with others saying that the government had particularly made it clear that the vaccination process was going to be voluntary and not mandatory.
