Ndawa Precious Assured of Schooling Again

African Women and Children Empowerment Initiative has assured the family of Ndawa precious that the organization will stop at nothing in sending the boy back to school.

The organization made the commitment in Mbengwi may 17 after visiting the family of Ndawa precious as a first response gesture following the publication of the 12years minor on MIMI news site cracking stones for survival, a story that shocked many attracting public sympathy across societal spectrum.

According to Kindong Theodore, director of communications and IT for African women and Children Empowerment Initiative, the organizations shall make realistic and earnest moves to send the boy to school.

“We want to discuss with the family and find out if they have a relative out of Bamenda.. What we want at the moment is too see the boy in school. It will be unrealistic to say we shall sponsor him up to the university level because it’s something like 10years. Lets start with basic education first and move on from there. We shall make prospection as what school he will attend, decide whether to pay his fees annually or pay complete from primary 3-6. We shall continue to assist in feeding until he finishes his primary school then we can talk of secondary school” he said.

Talking to MIMI team that accompanied the NGO officials to Mbengwi, Ndawa Precious, bold and courageously said he dreams of becoming a doctor. ”I stopped school in primary 3. My mum died and my father has no source of income. Now I live with my grandmother. We do not have any source of income. That is why I have to crack stones, hunt in the forest and do other menial jobs to assist my mother. I will like to go back to school and achieve my dream of becoming a medical doctor. I will like to cure the sick” he said.

Precious’ grand mother intimated that, relatives in Bamenda might not be able to take in Precious as they are overcrowded with IDPSs but will like to see her grandson back in school when school resumes.

Given that many persons of goodwill and organizations have been indicating interest in helping Precious achieve his dream of going back to school and becoming a medical doctor, and given that MIMI is not into humanitarian activities, we will like to propose that African Women and Children Empowerment Initiative, first responders to this situation, should help coordinate related actions and contributions from any organization that will bring joy and hope to Ndawa precious.
