Ndu subdivision:
Hundreds Homeless as Military, Herdsmen relaunch raids, raze houses

Hundreds of residents of Mbongong, a village in Ndu sub division in the restive North West region have been rendered homeless as the military and herdsmen are said to have relaunch raids, razing houses in the process.

According to some of the locals, their homes were razed by a mixed team of soldiers and herdsmen. The locals said, they herdsmen with whom the soldiers grouped to raze homes are the same persons with whom Mbongong indigenes have been having farmer-grazier conflicts.
Many, reports hold, have sought refuge in the bushes, weeping over their losses.
“This area has been in turmoil since the crisis escalated,” a local testified.

The latest incident is one of many others where the army assisted by herdsmen have wreaked havoc on villages. It was a similar combination that led to the Ngarbuh massacre of February 14, 2020 with perpetrators still unpunished.

During the massacre, seven pregnant women and kids were not spared by the raging assailants.
