New Garoua Lamido pledges commitment to Biya’s ‘war for peace’

The new Lamido for Garoua in Cameroon’s North region has expressed appreciation to President Paul Biya for what he terms strides to achieving peace and stability.

Lamido Ibrahim Souleymanou made the remarks shortly after he was handed official attributes and a congratulatory letter from President Paul Biya, handed by the Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji today.

President Paul Biya, the Lamido stated, through his actions made Garoua a peaceful place before, during and after the Lamidad election.

To this end, he said he was committed to carrying out his task with due diligence to ensure the head of State’s drive is maintained.

During their session, Minister Atanga Nji urged the traditional ruler to employ tact and wisdom is leading his people.

Lamido Ibrahim Souleymanou who doubles as a Captain was voted weeks back, beating among eleven others, former CAF President, Issa Hayatou.
