New security head at Douala Airport charged to fight corruption

Babaguida Hamadou, the new head of security at the Douala International Airport has been called upon to uphold order and combat all corrupt practices.

He received the command during his installation ceremony presided over by the Littoral Regional Delegate for National Security, Raymond Essogo.

Speaking at the ceremony, Raymond Essogo said it was necessary to maintain vigilance. “Because it is the gateway to Cameroon, the Douala International Airport is the crossing point for traffic” he noted.

Due to this and other reasons, “you will also need to ensure strict compliance with measures to combat the coronavirus” he charged the new head of security.

The former head of security at the airport, Salary Yaou Alhadji on his part, was called to other duties at the border police.

With 4 terminals and an average of 1.5 million passengers and 50,000 tonnes of freight per year prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Douala International Airport remains the most active in the country.
