A man is nursing injuries after he got beaten in Douala today as commercial bike riders protested against the municipal police. He was watching the protest from a distance when a group of unidentified men got to him and had him well tortured as a crowd watched.






Many are still in awe following the survival of a baby in Bangante, West Region, 48 hours after it was abandoned. The kid’s mother, an IDP said she buried the child out of shame, given that she bore when her current child is yet to attain 12 months. The newborn was rushed to hospital for medical care.




Some traders at the Mokolo market are weeping over their losses after a fire incident destroyed their properties. At least six shops were affected by the Monday fire. Traders say the issue was worsened by the lack of adequate resources to end the fire on time.




Many readings have been given into government’s decision not to have any reception ceremonies for the National Day celebration this year. Many believe it is a means by government to conserve money, following the huge amounts spent on the Africa Cup of Nations and other projects.



The United States of America through its USAID initiative has dished out the sum of. 17 billion FCFA to support Cameroon combat food insecurity. Announcing the aid, the US mentioned that it comes as part of a wider food provision plan for West Africa and the Sahel regions. The support to Cameroon comes at a time prices of regular goods are skyrocketing, worsened by prolonged armed conflicts.



A five-month pregnant lady is currently detained in Timo, South West region. She was arrested for allegedly beating her nephew to death, The Guardian Post newspaper reports. This, it adds, was after the 11-year-old nephew served food without her permission.
