Ngarbuh Massacre: Trial of three ‘atrocious’ soldiers begins December 17

The Ngarbuh incident till date has a sour taste that may never fade away.
Over fourteen innocent villagers and children were murdered in cold blood by soldiers of the Republic of Cameroon.

At least nine children and a pregnant woman were among those shot by the heartless assailants all in the name of fighting a struggle.

The perpetrators after investigations were discovered to be members of the state owned military forces. They were apprehended and it has now been disclosed that their trial will begin on December 17 at the Yaoundé Military Tribunal.

The information was confirmed by Agence France Press (AFP), quoting the Head of the Communication Division at the Ministry of Defense, Commander Cyrille Serge Atomfack.
The three military personnel who were found guilty for setting ablaze and killing over a dozen women and children in Ngarbuh will be facing trial in mid-December, Atonfack said.
He added that the perpetrators violated human rights and also violated instructions.

The upcoming trial has been welcomed positively by human rights organizations who have commended the efforts being put to ensure justice is served for the innocent souls that were wasted in Ngarbuh.

Illaria Allegrozi, researcher at Human Rights Watch mentioned, “We welcome the opening of this trial, considering that we have gone from outright denial, to an investigation, to a presidential statement and now a trial,” she told AFP.
