More than 500 IDPs residing in Mombo municipality in the Littoral Region have received a consignment of food and non food items.
The consignment was made up of 200 bags of rice, 450 hand sanitisers, 700 face masks, 100 cartons of soap, 500 bottles of groundnut oil and 40 bags of salt.
Expressing his gratitude, Kunde Janvier, Mayor of Mombo council said the happening was the first of its kind in the municipality. The gesture he added was going to make life easier for the close to 1000 IDPs from the crisis-hit Anglophone regions of Cameroon.
Talking after handing the items, Hilary Ngide, Director of the Center for Community Regeneration and Development (CCREAD) reassured the community of better days ahead.
The move was also appreciated by the Mombo Sub Divisional Officer who was visited by the CCREAD team after the exercise.
Mombo is one of many localities in Cameroon hosting IDPs from the troubled North West and South West Regions.
