Ngokentunjia SDO’s exceseses forces mission schools to shutdown

Catholic and Presbyterian nursery, primary and secondary schools in Ngokentunjia division are progressively shutting down not because of insecurity but what they describe as “administrative wickedness “.

“My son in class five at Presbyterian primary school Ndop is now in the house after I have suffered and paid fees. This is because the senior divisional officer wants all children to attend government primary schools in the town” a parent in Ndop told Mimi Mefo Info, Thursday October 22th 2020.

To the parent, the SDO Quetong Anderson Konghe instructed the mayor of Ndop to stop mission schools for the kids to attend government schools in the area.

Reacting to the accusations Ntoh Daniel; mayor of Ndop council says “I am the mayor and my work for school resumption is to distribute didactic materials. For the issue of closing down mission schools in Ndop ask the SDO. You know there are certain administrative instructions that I cannot explain but just have to execute. So call the SDO and find out more”.

The mayor according to the inhabitants totally shown disrespect to officials of Presbyterian school Wednesday October 21st when he arrived the campus to shut down the school.

An inhabitant of Ndop writing to Mimi Mefo Info says “…children are harassed and forced to government schools in military vehicles each day. We are really living in hell here in Ndop. The SDO,DO Ntinwat Valentine and the mayor are acting more as gangsters than administrators appointed and elected to ensure the wellbeing of the people “

Attempts to get the reaction of SDO have so far not yielded fruits. Despite this, a source at the SDO’S office says the administrative measure is to keep school children in the locality in a particular learning environment to permit efficient security from the military.

An excuse or reason parents with kids in mission schools in Ndop have wave aside stating that in other divisions authorities have not shutdown mission schools.
