The Senior Divisional Officer, SDO, Of Ngoketunja Division of the North West region has sealed the Baba 1 Palace.
Handerson Quetong Kongeh accompanied by other local administrative, judicial and security officials of the Division descended to Baba 1 Palace for the exercise on Wednesday May 3rd, 2023.

According to a seal at the Palace entrance, the place shall remain closed, “until the designation of successor of late Fon Fuekemshi Melon Forchu in conformity with the rules and regulations in force.”
Few Baba 1 villagers gathered at the palace to witness the sealing exercise.
A Baba 1 notable told MMI that: “It is a normal administrative procedure especially given the fact that the Fon ‘disappeared’ out of the country.”
The palace according to MMI findings the palace looked abandoned suggesting that the Fon was resident out of the village.
“You should know that the palace is in darkness and has to be quiet. Besides the wives of the Fon and children were all living in Yaounde. That’s why you find the palace the way it is not that it has been abandoned or destroyed,” said the notable.
