The founding Chairman of the Social Democratic Front, SDF, has announced he will no longer run for the position of the chairman of the party during the next national elective convention of the party.

Questioned if he has failed in his ambition to become the president of Cameroon, Ni John Fru Ndi says he and militants of the party have effectively contributed and are still contributing to the advancement of democracy in Cameroon by sending representatives to councils, national assembly, and the Senate. “…leadership is not just that Fru Ndi should be president of Cameroon,” he stated.

Ni John Fru Ndi to quit leadership at the helm of the party after 31 years. He has been the chairman since May 26th, 1990 when the SDF was founded in Bamenda thereby reintroducing multiparty politics in Cameroon.
