Nigeria: Catholic Priest shot and burnt to death



The incident which has been described by the entire Christian community as shocking, took place in the early hours of Sunday, 15th January 2023.

Rev. Fr Isaac ACHI, a Senior Priest of the Catholic Diocese of Minna, Niger State, Nigeria was reportedly attacked at the Rectory (Fathers’ House) of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kafin Koro.

According to Bishop Shanahan Bulletins published after the attack, “Fr Isaac ACHI was fiercely attacked, shot dead and burnt beyond recognition while his assistant, Fr Colins Omeh sustained severe bullet wounds.”

Rev. Fr Isaac ACHI was a Senior Priest of the Catholic Diocese of Minna, Niger State, Nigeria.

He was also Parish Priest of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kafin Koro in Niger State and the Dean of Kafin Koro Deanery.

The Church in Nigeria is under physical attack by the opposition. The Christian communities live in fear.

“Pray for the Church in Nigeria.
Pray for the Christian communities.
Rest In Peace, Father Isaac Achi,” Bishop Shanahan’s Bulletins said.
