Nigerian Catholic priest abducted in Mamfe

The whereabouts of Rev.Father Felix Ezeaka Sunday remains unknown over 24 hours after he was taken away by armed individuals.

He was kidnapped after Sunday’s morning mass in Mbakang village in Manyu division in the South West region of Cameroon.

No group has for now claimed responsibility for the act but prior to his abduction; there have been rumours in Manyu division that separatist fighters were not happy with some of his comments and preaching in church concerning the activities of the fighters.

Amba Fighters have several occasions accused him of speaking against them, Mimi Mefo has gathered.

Father Felix Ezeaka,parish priest of Afab; Ejakam community in Manyu division returned to the parish last Saturday after spending weeks in his home country Nigeria on a short holiday.

A Christian in Afab Parish on the bases of anonymity has stated that Rev.Father Felix Ezeaka has suffered threats from both separatists and security forces for speaking the truth concerning the crisis.

Bishop Andrew Nkea of Mamfe diocese has not issued any official statement on the abduction of one of his priests.
Rev.Father Felix Ezeaka has been serving in Cameroon for two years.
