Njinikom:Government soldiers dislodge Separatists’ park, kill one

Uneasy calm now reigns in njinikom, Boyo division in Cameroon’s restive North West Region.

Gendarmerie elements in Njinikom Wednesday, killed one separatists fighters in a shot out with separatists fighters who are active in the area.

Several civilians survived bullet wounds and are undergoing medical care in health facilities.

Gendarmerie elements laid ambush at the Baingeh market where separatists fighters in Njinikom had converted into a park where cars to and from BAMENDA load and offload.

During working hours they work as revenue collectors and charging drivers Park fees.

After the Wednesday incident, the fighters have relocated to nearby Kikfuini and are threatening to set up another park there.

It is a move condemed widely by the people as travelers are compelled to pay close to the fare from Bamenda as transport on motor bikes which the control to their homes after arriving such parks.

Wednesdays incident saw several bikes burnt and some belonging to the separatists fighters confiscated.
