No match has been organised in support of Eto’o – spokesperson

By Amina Hilda

Ernest Obama, the current spokesperson for Samuel Eto’o, president of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT), has debunked information stating that plans are underway to carry out a football in support of Eto’o.

He refuted the information in a release published on August 19, 2023.

In this release, Ernest Obama said, “For the past few days, a template circulating on social networks has announced the holding of a sports march on September 17, in support of Mr. Samuel Eto’o, President of the Cameroonian Football Federation.”

“We hereby inform national and international public opinion that the President of FECAFOOT is not directly or indirectly associated with this initiative,” he went on, promising legal proceedings for all who use without authorization, the image of Mr. Samuel Eto’o as well as the logo of FECAFOOT.

This outing comes at a time when Samuel Eto’o is facing numerous challenges, with some asking for him to resign his presidency.
