“No need to train for the sake of training”, Minister Tasong urges UB

The Minister Delegate at the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Regional Development has charged the University of Buea to tailor its training system to aid the realization of the 2020-30 national development strategic plan.

He made the speech today, November 5, 2021, during his working visit to the university campus.

While at the conference, Minister Tasong Njukang Paul and some members of his entourage presented the vision of the national strategic plan, which is contained in a newly published book titled “National development strategy 2020-30: For Structural Transformation and inclusive development.”

Speaking to the press after the conference, the Lebialem elite noted “The strategy is centered on the need for quality human and capital resources. Without which, we can not drive the strategy to logical realization.”

In this regard, Tasong called on the University of Buea and other national institutions to mold the youths to meet the already drawn plan.

“No need to train people for the sake of training”, the minister said, adding that the mission of the University of Buea is to make the institution comprehend the prioritized areas of the economy, to reshape training of young Cameroonians to meet economic needs.
