Non-commissioned female marine officers prohibited from getting pregnant while in service

The chief of staff of the National Navy, Jean Mendoua, has in a release prohibited the act of getting pregnant by female non-commissioned officers of the navy, while in service.

According to him, getting pregnant is seen as a tactic to prolong their position outside the ranks for as long as possible, thereby improperly escaping their military obligations.

He has emphasized on the provision of title 1, article 3 of the ministerial reference which states that the commitment may be terminated for pregnancy or marriage before 3 years.

He as well instructed the hierarchy to put an end to such acts which according to him has been tarnishing the image of the defense forces in general and that of the navy in particular.
