Less than two thousand people have been administered the COVID 19 Vaccine in the North West Region of Cameroon close to a month after a national vaccination campaign against the pandemic was launched in the country.
According to Dr. Che Soh Kingsley, regional delegate of public health in the North West region, a total thirty-four thousand four hundred doses of both Astrazeneca and SINOPHARM COVID-19 Vaccines have been offered to the region by the government.
The statistics were presented to World Health Organization’s representative in Cameroon Dr. Phanuel Habimana as he offered a four-wheel vehicle and twenty computers to the regional delegation of public health Wednesday, May 5th, 2021.
On why many people in the North West are skeptical to take the vaccine, they fear any possible adverse health issues that may result from taking the vaccine.
Health officials have embarked on sensitization campaigns, saying the vaccine is to prevent people from contracting the pandemic.
