Mayors across the North West region are said to be mobilsing 2300 persons to support PWD Social Football Club of Bamenda at the Cup of Cameroon final billed for Sunday March 13.

The entire North West region has been mobilized to ensure that the trophy returns to Bamenda. Mayors of all 34 councils during a planning meeting with the governor of the North West region, Lele L’Afrique took a commitment to provide a 70seater bus each for the transportation of supporters. Banners have been placed at some major junctions and streets in Bamenda announcing the final.

The Bamenda-based club will face Les Astres Football Club of Douala. This will be at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaounde. In the meantime, PWD Bamenda team is expected to arrive the nation’s capital in the early hours of Friday, March 11 ahead of the encounter.

The Abakwa boys have missed two training sessions this week due to ghost towns. They will resume training at the Big Mankon Field Wednesday March 9.
According to team officials, the team will train on Wednesday and Thursday before leaving for Yaoundé. While in Yaounde, the team will train for two more days before Sunday’s clash.

Having waited for 8 months, the Abakwa Boys says they are going to write the wrongs of 1978. PWD Social Football Club of Bamenda will play against Les Astres of Douala. Both teams will be aiming for their first cup of Cameroon triumph.

Although some players who qualified the team to the finals are no longer part of the team, the Abakwa Boys believe their new recruits can do the magic.
