North West: Reconstruction team samples and evaluates compensation files

The Presidential Plan for Reconstruction and Development, PPRD of the North West region met in a session to evaluate its work so far.

In a January 21st meeting chaired by the governor of the region, Adolphe Lele L’Afrique, it was “… aimed at evaluating the PPRD/NWR files so far collected in the entire Region” the administrator said.

Earlier, those whose properties were destroyed in the different divisions that make up the region were urged to submit files with pictures of the destroyed properties to their Mayors.

The reconstruction initiative of the conflict-hit North West and South West regions it should be noted is set to cost 90 billion FCFA.

The United Nations Development Program, UNDP has pledged to foot 90% of the bill.

Many have however questioned the possibility of reconstruction as the violence still rages on.
