North West region: Gov’t urges Small and Medium Size Enterprise owners to register for financing

Owners of Small and Medium Size Enterprises in the North West region have been called upon to get themselves registered at the Ministry of Small and Medium Size Enterprises so as to benefit from financing from the government.

The officials at the regional delegation of the ministry say their doors are open to youths who are expected to come up with project proposals that can be financed.

Since the creation of the One-Stop-Shop for Small and Medium Size Enterprises, it takes 72 hours to be duely registered and recognized.

According to Yannick Fonben the chief of statistics at the regional delegation of Small and Medium Size Enterprises, for their businesses to be financed by the government, youths need to come up with a project.

Yannick Fonben says the selection process is based on the best projects which is done by an evaluation team and it has to be followed up.

Once selected, the ministry then recommends the project for financing.

Between January and June this year, close to 400 businesses have been registered at the Small and Medium Size Enterprises.

The One Stop Shop for Small and Medium Size Enterprises was launched in the North West region on July 13, 2011.
