Northwest politician calls for justice as a way to end Anglophone Crisis

The President of the United Democratic Party, UDP, El Hadj Lawan Bako has warned that current peace efforts in the North West and South West regions get by the government couldn’t be derailed if the aspect of justice is neglected by the authorities.

The Bamenda-based politician who is also the spokesperson of the presidential majority, a coalition of political parties that backed president Paul Biya in the 2018 presidential elections, has cautioned that the sociopolitical crisis should be addressed beyond the current efforts.

“When there’s justice, peace comes automatically. This justice entails that, you do what the people believe in. You are exercising justice for the people,” he said.

“It’s the government of the people for the people. You cannot come and be crying peace peace peace”, El Hadj Lawan Bako said.

From Boyo Division, North West region, Bochong El Hadj Lawan Bako sounds off as the founding National Chairman of the United Democratic Party (UDP|) on 2nd April 1992.

He was the leader of the UDP list for senatorial elections in the North West.
