Dr Ambe Modest Nuel dies
The Department of English, University of Yaounde 1 is bereaved, MMI has gathered.
Dr Ambe Modest Nuel, one of its lecturers is reported to have died Sunday, June 25, 2023, after battling with a health challenge.
Reports say the health of the late lecturer deteriorated a few months after he was recruited at the University of Yaounde 1.
“He defended his Ph.D. last year and was recruited to teach at the University of Yaounde. He did not even teach for a month then his liver cancer condition became worst,” a close source told MMI
Due to limited means to pursue proper medical care, gestures were made by people of goodwill for him to be flown to India for medical attention.
“People contributed and he went for treatment in India but it was already too late. He traveled to India and was there for a while. When nothing was changing, he came back.” he added.
Dr. Modest MMI gathered, died last night about a month after returning to Cameroon from India.
