“One man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter” – political observer

A political observer, Ambe Emmanuel, has painted a bleak picture of what the English-speaking people have been through over the years. In elaborate analogy, he questions how much price they still have to pay, to attain their goal.

He writes:

…Anglophones, always paying the ultimate price towards a better LRC while we go home empty, wounded and sad. Anglophones have always stood up while francophones are sitting down, then the francophones end up getting the benefits.

Where were francophone problems when Anglophones cried foul in 2016?

Did it have to take more than 3,000 Anglophone deaths including the killing of babies for the world to know that Biya failed to develop the LRC in 38 years?

Did it have to cost the burning down of above 250 Anglophone villages before the Grand North could tell the world that they lack potable water and class rooms?

Where were the Francophones when our leaders asked for a Federation in 2016? At that time it was an Anglophone problem or better still, Anglophones were disturbing the peace. Today, francophone problems have overshadowed the very essence of the so called National Dialogue to the point where ethnic blocks are using their population to tip the balance towards their end. Peoples personal problems are now on the dialogue table.

As veteran journalist BOUDDIH ADAMS mentioned several years back that ANGLOPHONE VARIABLES have always been employed to solve FRANCOPHONE PROBLEMS.Those who asked for an Anglo-Saxon University were called terrorists. How many State Universities are there today, how many Private Universities and how many Confessional Universities are there, all thanks to the courage of terrorist students?

Whether it was about the creation of official Examinations Boards, Anglophones had to pay the ultimate price with terrorist Anglophone Teachers Trade Unionists like AZONG WARA suffering repeated arrests and detentions in the super dungeons in Yaounde. Even though Anglophones asked for the GCE Board first, the BACC Board was created before the GCE Board.

It had to take the courage of the terrorist CONSORTIUM for a COMMON LAW branch to be created in ENAM which has admitted 90% Francophones than the Anglophones who fought for it.

TERRORISM is likely the only road to independence, to FREEDOM and towards a better life. One man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter. Yesterdays terrorists are today’s heroes, yesterdays terrorists are today’s martyrs.

The definition of the word terrorist keeps changing. Terrorism is employed when the strong want to justify their oppression against the weak. In 2019, the enemy has one again metamorphosed into KAMTO and his MRC that is crying foul over stolen elections.

Only terrorism can secure a better life for the people. For more people who can stand the gap, people who can stand for justice and for truth, people who can speak up when others are silent, people who can take the mantle and lead others, role models of the society.

What then can be the prayer of any rational being?
