Outstanding Donga Mantung students to receive scholarships worth FCFA 18 million

An expected amount of over FCFA 18 million will be distributed to high performing pupils and students of Donga Mantung Division.

This is going to be within the framework of the final phase of the Donga Mantung Scholarship Fund.

This scheme is an initiative of one of the elites of the Donga Mantung Division, Fuh Calistus Gentry.

This scholarship award will take place in three separate ceremonies beginning today September 7 in Misaje subdivision, on Thursday in Ako Subdivision and on Friday in Ndu Subdivision.

The award, which will be given in cash to meritorious pupils and students with high score performances during the common entrance examinations, First School Leaving Certificates (FSLC) as well as the GCE Ordinary and Advanced Levels in the Grammar, Commercial and Technical Education, will range from FCFA 50,000 to FCFA 150,000.

Donga Mantung Division in the Northwest Region has been very collaborative with the government despite several threats from separatists.

During the recent Back-to-School campaign in the two English-speaking regions, Donga Mantung Division was the only part of the Northwest Region that ventured to reopen schools.

Government primary and secondary schools in Nkambe saw massive turn outs, although most parts of the Donga Mantung Division like Ndu were mostly deserted due to the uncertainties and terror that characterizes the atmosphere in the Northwest and Southwest Region.
