Women from all the ten regions of Cameron are already converging on Yaoundé ahead of a 3-day national All Women Convention for Peace.
The convention, according to organizers, has been organized by the Cameroon women with support from the Fredish Stiften Foundation.
The convention that will open in Yaoundé July 29 at the Pailais de Congress, shall see the convergence of women from all walks of life in attendance.
According to women delegations from the North-West region, for 3 days, they have discovered that women work in disperse ranks and that there is need to consolidate actions, work as one entity with one vision.
The 3-day conference shall produce a draft proposal plan on how women can be involved around policy-making on peace building issues, conflict resolution and prevention.
It is expected that at the close of the 3 days convention in Yaoundé, a policy paper shall be produced by the various women delegates on what needs to be done for peace to return.
The 3-day event in Yaoundé shall feature amongst other things, 4 workshops on gender based violence and artistic performances.
Amongst those who shall be attending the national convention from Bamenda are gender defenders like Waah Clotilda of the Center for Advocacy Gender Education and Development (CAGEAD), Roseline Obah Akah, the national president of the Cameroon Community Media Network (CCMN) and journalism gurus like Clementine Njang Yong.
