A suspicious device was discovered this morning opposite Holiday Hotel in Meta Quarter, Bamenda, causing panic among residents.
Business owners in the area stumbled upon a bag placed beside a makeshift call box, raising immediate concerns.
According to eyewitness reports, the bag was found to contain several devices connected to cables, although it remains unclear whether they constitute an explosive threat.
Security forces swiftly responded by cordoning off all access roads leading to Meta Quarter and establishing a perimeter around the site.
In the past, such devices have exploded, causing deaths and injuries.

The situation this morning has caused significant disruption in the area, with residents and businesses on edge as they await further updates.
Separatist fighters have, in the past, used improvised explosives to target security and defence forces as well as disrupt public events.
One such attack, suspected to have been orchestrated by separatists, killed a student and injured more than 70 people in Nkambe on February 11.
Explosives have been detected in the city of Bamenda on several occasions, some killing several people.
