Panic sets in as Lycee d’Akwa principal dies

Government High School Akwa may possibly close the school year 2020/2021 without a school principal. This follows the death of the principal on Saturday, June 19, 2021.

Adelaide Flore Mengue Messi epse Mvondo is reported to have given up the ghost while being transported to a hospital by relatives.

From a senior discipline master in Lycée de New Bell in Douala, the philosophy teacher by training was appointed principal of Government High School Akwa Douala in 2017.

According to a source in the school, Adelaide Flore Mengue Messi was appointed principal of the school following the death of the then principal Germain Ekambi Moussole.

Rumours on the rise are questioning the position of the principal at Government High School Akwa, given that two of its occupants have died within four years.

With just a few days left to the end of the school year, observers say a new principal can only be appointed at the beginning of next academic year.

A source at Littoral regional delegation of secondary education indicates that the death of the principal of GHS Akwa brings the number to three school principals that have died in the Littoral region this academic year.

Besides Adelaide Flore Mengue Messi, Simon Pierre Mbem, principal of Government High School Ndog Hem and David Ndue Ntungwa of Lycee Mongo Joseph in Bonapriso Douala died in the course of the year.
