Passengers Stranded on Bamenda – Babajou Road over Poor Construction Works

Traffic was disrupted today along the Babadjou – Bamenda stretch of road today leaving hundreds of passengers stranded.

Passengers say they had to wait for hours before movemens could return to normal.

“We all left Yaounde and arrived there in the morning at 5 AM but were stuck because a trailer fell in the hole dug by the construction company and blocked the road. We finally left there at 11AM in the morning” one of the passengers stranded earlier today says.

The road has been at the center of debates for years now as construction works have been long abandoned.

The stretch of road is noted for being hardly passable for years, due to excessive mud or dust in the rainy and dry seasons.

Government had long promise to complete works on the road but it remains abandoned due to insecurity in the area.
