Pastor detained in Kondengui Central Prison over alleged 10 Million FCFA visa fraud

The Guardian Post Newspaper reports that Pastor Tanwie Amandor has been arrested and is detained at the Yaoundé Kondengui Central Prison over an alleged visa fraud which amounts to at least 10 Million FCFA.

It is reported that Pastor Amandor was reported by a certain Nkachop Kinley amongst a group of many other complainants, for having extorted an exorbitant amount of cash promising to provide them Canadian visas.

Further Information reveal that the transaction to acquire these visas began right back in 2019 when these complainants allegedly contacted him to help get for them the Canadian visas. He was reportedly contacted via the social media network through a mediator with whom he worked to attract customers.

When the victims saw it taking longer than expected for these visas to be obtained, it was then that they realized they might have fallen into a scam, and so contacted law enforcement officers in an effort to get a full reimbursement.

The Guardian Post Newspaper adds that Pastor Tanwie accepted to have received money from these individuals, but denied the allegation that he used his social media sites as bait to contact victims.

The pastor insinuated that it was Nkachop Kinley, who equally happens to be a pastor in his church, who brought the other people to him because of his trust so they could be provided Visas.

In his defense equally, Pastor Tanwie said he was indeed going to help these persons acquire their visas but felt short when he fell into the hands of the wrong people who abused him.
While also regretting for taking these funds from these people, he has promised to refund the money once he is set free by the police.
