Pastor, seven others shot dead in Widikum

Mimi Info Info has been reliably informed that a Pastor was shot dead alongside seven members of his church in Widikum of the North West region. It occurred Monday, March 9th 2020.

The clergy whose name we got as Reverend Keptsi Peter, was reportedly killed by government soldiers who had taken over a church in Momo Division, using it as their base.

A source from the Catholic Church who opted for anonymity confirmed the information, adding that “the act was carried out by soldiers”.

“The military arrived in Church, and just started shooting, he told Mimi Mefo Info.

“So the pastor and other Christians were victims … seven people as of now were killed” he added.

The killings come after the international community urged parties involved in the armed conflict in Anglophone Cameroon to ensure lives are protected.

The ongoing crisis war in the North West and South West regions which started in 2016 morphed into an armed conflict a w months later after government forces shot armless and peaceful protesters who were clamouring for the independence of the English-speaking parts Cameroon.

Reports say over three thousand persons have been killed already, with many more than one million others seeking refuge in and out of the country.

Government has flatly denied committing atrocities and killings civilians, following accusations from local and international NGOs.
