The President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Patrice Motsepe is has landed in Cameroon today accompanied by Samuel Eto’o Fils. The pair are from the CAF Executive Committee Meeting held in Doha, Qatar where they discussed the possible fate of the upcoming African Cup of Nations Tournament.

The CAF president among other things will be expected to discuss with Cameroonian authorities the resolutions of the CAF Exco meeting about the AFCON, whose chances of postponement may have increased slightly recently.

The CAF Executive Committee is reported to have met on Sunday, December 19, 2021, to discuss the fate of the tournament, and a decision was taken.

Nevertheless, it is understood that the communication of this decision will only be done on Wednesday after concertations with Cameroonian authorities.

The CAF Executive Committee chaired by Patrice Motsepe himself had in its agenda a decision to either maintain the hosting of the AFCON, or postpone it.
