Paul Tasong and Christopher Anu in war of words over killing of Lebialem chiefs

Christopher Anu identifying himself as the communication secretary of the self proclaim state of Ambazonia has accused Paul Tasong a member of government in Cameroon and son of Libialem division of being responsible for the killing of three traditional rulers in Essoh Atah community in Libialem on February 13th 2020.

In an audio message released Sunday February 21st 2021 by Christopher Anu, he says “Paul Tasong masterminded the killings to consolidate his powers in Yaounde but used my good name to cover up his genocidal crimes in the community”.

To the Ambazonian activist based abroad, Paul Tasong to cover up what he calls “surgically executed crimes” quickly organised a mourning event in Yaounde to further show himself as a leader of Libialem division.

Chris Anu as he is popular known said “the death of three traditional rulers must be avenged. Tasong will have to pay severely for this”.

In an event to pay homage to the three chiefs killed in Libialem, Minister Paul Tasong and son of Libialem had accused Anu and his brother for the chiefs’ deaths.

“We have two demons in Libialem. Lekeaka Oliver otherwise known as Field Mashall and his brother Christopher Anu based in USA. They killed the chiefs. We the people of Libialem are against terrorism and therefore call on the powers that be to take action and safe peace loving people of Libialem” he said.

The assertion of Paul Tasong falls in line with that of the government of Cameroon that has attributed the killings of the three chiefs to the “Red Dragon” a group of armed men fighting for the restoration of the state of Ambazonia.

In an interview granted state radio, an anonymous source attested that he witnessed the killing of the three chiefs by boys of the red dragon.

According to the said source, the fighters blamed the chiefs for voting during the regional elections last December despite separatist calls for a boycott.

As the state of Cameroon engages in a blame game on who is responsible, observers say that will not undo the killings. Many continue to propose a frank dialogue that can stop all types of atrocities in the anglophone regions.
