PCC vindicates Rev Mary Nduma, associate in quest to resolve Kumba church wahala

Among the resolutions arrived at during the extraordinary meeting of an enlarged Synod Executive Committee of the Presbyterian Church was the redeployment of Rev Mary Nduma and her assistant from PC Kumba Town.

The meeting was held on September 24, 2022, with the aim to resolve the crisis plaguing Presbyterian Church Kumba Town.

According to a document, which highlighted the resolutions of the meeting, signed by the Rt. Rev. Fonki Samuel Forba, moderator of the PCC, Rev Mary Nduma and Eyonga Tambi are “.. neither initiators nor accomplices nor connected directly or indirectly with the cause of the crisis plaguing PC Kumba Town.”

Information however had it that Christians of PC Kumba protested for the departure of the Parish pastor and her associate, for attempting to replace the congregational chairperson, Comfort Nkele on allegations of embezzlement and misappropriation.

The Synod Executive Committee however agreed on validating “recommendations… to depose the congregational chairperson, Elder-Nkwele comfort, Vice congregational chairperson, Elder-Jerome Mbita, Financial secretary Elder-Kingsley Mesumbe and congregational Treasurer Mrs Ndeme Frida, due to their Financial impropriety and conduct incompatible with holding any such offices.”

The new Parish pastor for PC Kumba Town will be expected to organize elections for the new session and finance committee.

On Sunday, October 9, a commission of senior Pastors will be sent to PC Kumba Town for a cleansing and reinstatement service.

After being sealed for a month, the Senior Divisional Officer for Meme, Chamberlin Ntou’ou Ndong unsealed the church on September 27, 2022, following the PCC extraordinary meeting.

It remains uncertain how christians will react to the latest decisions.
